Books and videos : late elementary to adult: Horrible Histories
My children have enjoyed the Horrible History books from Scholastic UK. They can be ordered through Amazon occasionally and a homeschooling father in the San Diego area periodically sends in orders for a variety of UK books http://www.horriblebooks.com/ My son loves the books; my daughter thought they were a bit silly - they have a British sense of humor which isn't for everyone it seems!
I recently found the Horrible History BBC channel on Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/user/horriblehistoriesBBC is the link to entire channel. I used some of these as part of the last lecture of a class I was teaching on Greek and Roman history. Everyone loved them! (Especially Wife Swap: Sparta and Athens)
Hope others enjoy them too!
