State Homeschool Organizations that Provide Support

The HomeSchool Association of California (aka HSC) has an extensive website, including a free publication to help you get started. You can download it free here, or request a printed copy.

The California Homeschool Network also has a getting started guide called Just the Facts, which contains the step by step directions for filing a Private School Affidavit (also know as the PSA or R4 option for homeschooling).

Both organizations hold yearly conferences, have county contacts that you can speak to in this area, and host camp-outs and other events to connect homeschoolers with each other.
